Gabriel Loo has been a professional artist and teacher for the past 14 years. His work has shown in galleries both in New York and Florida, and currently in private collections throughout various parts of the United States. Born in Brooklyn New York to parents of Panamanian descent, his cultural background is very diverse. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Studio Arts from New York University, and, his interests in the Fine arts includes painting, printmaking, drawing and computer generated art. As both artist and instructor he finds himself moving easily between both aspects of student and teacher. "Amongst my students I can also find direction and purpose." His creative journey has led him to rediscover the abstract qualities of the visual picture plane. Growing up in a household with a wealth of diverse musical interests, it has made a tremendous influence on his present work: The Rhythm Series. He continues to explore the many aspects of himself and the world around him through his art. Moreover he believes as we move through the various stages of life, so too, the artist must continue to grow and change with his or her own work. "Art is more than seeing but reacting and interacting with one's feelings, personality, intellect and spirit! It is a highly subjective process, a viable communicating medium, which belongs to everyone." He continues to live and paint in Florida. Gabriel's art work is very bold and exciting to experience.
